Led by an AI-GRS
The AI-GRS designation is the Appraisal Institute's credential for review work. Earning it takes specialized review coursework, an exam, and documented experience reviewing other appraisers' work.
USPAP Standard 3 reviews
Desk and field reviews of the appraiser's data, methods and reasoning, with a clear opinion on whether the work is credible, and our own opinion of value when the assignment calls for it.
For lenders
Independent technical reviews that support your appraisal-management and credit process, including second-opinion reviews on large or unusual loans.
For attorneys and owners
A critical, documented look at an opposing appraisal in litigation, a tax appeal, an estate dispute or an eminent domain case.
Common questions
What is an AI-GRS?
AI-GRS stands for Appraisal Institute General Review Specialist. It is the Appraisal Institute's designation for appraisers who specialize in reviewing other appraisers' work, and it is held by a relatively small number of appraisers.
What is the difference between a desk review and a field review?
A desk review relies on the report and data without inspecting the property. A field review adds an inspection of the subject and, often, the comparables.
Can you review a residential appraisal?
Yes. We review both commercial and residential appraisals.
Need a commercial appraisal?
Tell us about the property and what the appraisal is for. We will respond with a fee and a delivery date, usually within one business day.
