Retrospective Appraisals
Appraisals of commercial property as of a past date, for estates, divorce, litigation, tax matters and anything else where value at an earlier point in time matters.
Value as of a past date
We use the sales, rents and market conditions that existed on that date, and leave out what happened afterward.
Common uses
Date-of-death values for estates settled late, alternate valuation dates, past dates for divorce or partnership disputes, and assessment dates for tax appeals.
Property condition
When the property has changed since the date of value, we use records, photos and interviews to establish its condition at the time.
Years back
We regularly appraise properties as of dates several years in the past.
Common questions
Can you appraise a property as of a date several years ago?
Yes. As long as there is enough information about the property and market at that time, a retrospective appraisal is routine.
What if the building has been renovated or demolished since?
We value it as it was on the date of value, using records, photos and other information about its condition at the time.
Need a commercial appraisal?
Tell us about the property and what the appraisal is for. We will respond with a fee and a delivery date, usually within one business day.
